About Matteo
Little Matteo is 5 months old. His grandparents are farmers, growing wheat and corn in rural Gansu Province. Matteo’s father is a coal miner and provides the only source of income for the family. Matteo’s older brother is starting school this month, and his family had to rent a room in the city so that he could have access to the school. This is a significant expense for the family.
