About Karter
Karter was born with a cleft lip and palate. His father is the only member of the family who is able to work. He takes any odd jobs he can find to try to support his family of five, which includes his wife, son, and both of his elderly parents. The family was fortunate to be able to save and borrow enough for Karter’s lip repair to be done when he was about 18 months old, but it also left them with no savings and no way to borrow more for his second surgery needed for his cleft palate.
