In many countries around the world, secondary education is not free and well beyond the reach of those living in poverty. LWB has been honored over the years to give bright and promising young people the best chance possible of achieving their dreams.
In rural Cambodia, we have two initiatives to help older children from impoverished villages.
- We provide tuition support so students can attend both high school and college. In return, the teens have formed a remarkable group called Mercy Youth, which serves children in remote villages. From teaching literacy to life skills such as personal hygiene and the dangers of trafficking, Mercy Youth serve as important mentors to disadvantaged children. They are true world-changers, and your sponsorship is an investment not only in their future but for positive change throughout their communities.
- The EASEL Community Learning Center was created in 2014 to serve children living in rural Rangsei Village. EASEL operates in the Savannah Jones Memorial Classrooms, which were constructed in 2015 by the community of Hazelton, BC, Canada, in memory of Savannah Jones, a late student and passionate humanitarian. EASEL serves over 200 children and teens each day with classes in English, math, and computer literacy, and your support of this program provides the critical skills and knowledge needed to help them rise from poverty.
