Take Heart: LWB’s India Cardiac Program

Love Without Boundaries’ partner hospital, Amrita, receives an average of 44 walk-in pediatric patients each year who require immediate surgery but cannot afford it. Known for its quality, range of services, and affordable cost, Amrita has one of India’s leading pediatric heart programs. Having performed over 13,000 heart surgeries, the staff has experience with standard, complex, and rare heart cases. Prior to COVID, Amrita performed medical outreaches in rural areas where they could easily find more than a hundred additional children each year needing an NGO’s support to fund surgery. To date, LWB has facilitated 17 heart surgeries for Indian children and seeks to fund another 17 children this year.
