Delivering Hope to Hungry Villages

At the start of this week’s Emergency Food Relief campaign, and over the last 18 months of the pandemic, we have shared stories of the many children and families in our country program locations who are desperate for food. The heartwrenching circumstances have been our motivation to continue doing all that we possibly can to help, and it is the reason we set our most recent and ambitious goal of raising $75,000 to help those in urgent need of nutrition.

Enormous Need and Extraordinary Gratitude: Food Relief in Uganda

Since April of 2020, our LWB teams around the world have been both honored and humbled to bring much-needed food relief to children and families who are suffering greatly from the ongoing impacts of COVID. Stories of Cyclone YAAS

Families in east India were suffering from the effects of the second wave of the COVID lockdowns this summer when yet another blow came. Cyclone YAAS hit the coastal communities with such force that many homes were completely lost and others were severely damaged. Families in these communities were now faced with incredible difficulties, and the need for help and emergency supplies were great.

Love for Leap Village

The amazing LWB community has provided emergency food supplies to hungry children around the world for the past year. We have been so thankful to be able to bring essential and life-sustaining food to villages and orphanages most in need. One of the extra blessings of having our teams go out to the most remote regions is that we are then able to identify other critical needs for children that we try our best to address. When our team first went to Leap Village, a rural Cambodian village near the border of Thailand, they were surprised at how many landmines still cover the area.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda, a sweet 12-year-old with seven brothers and sisters.┬áHer mother, who works as a migrant worker in the cassava fields, moved her family to remote Vithu Village two years ago after hearing that people who were severely impoverished could get a small plot of land of their very own.
