Celebrating National Adoption Month with Two Adoptions

This past week, we slipped right into the month of November and National Adoption Month in the most beautiful of ways — with not one but TWO adoptions! Both Gage and Connie have been part of LWB programs since they were just tiny babies, and now both have left our care to meet their permanent families.

Gage found himself orphaned at two months old after being born with a large hole in his heart. He had been suffering from repeated pneumonia and breathing troubles, and he soon had successful heart surgery during our Hefei Cardiac Exchange.

Following his recovery, Gage entered our healing home as a full-time resident.

Always very smiley and responsive, Gage frequently rewarded his nannies with the sweetest smiles and giggles.

Recently, Gage had become close to Baby Wyatt. It was reported that little Gage was the only child that could cheer Wyatt when he got fussy. Gage will certainly be missed by his healing home friends and nannies. However, we’re so grateful to have been a part of this beautiful boy’s life story and wish Gage lots of love and good fortune with his forever family.

Born prematurely, Connie had been abandoned and found by the police. She was so tiny and fragile that her orphanage asked for our help to make sure this tiny little girl survived. (Read more about Connie’s early days with us in the blog Connie:  Tiny Warrior and Capturer of Hearts).

Connie settled in beautifully with her foster grandparents and brought so much joy to those around her with her vivacious personality.

Just this fall, Connie started kindergarten and absolutely loved going to school. She is quite lively and loves being around other children her age.

This happy adoption news was something we had long hoped for, and we’re so grateful that both Gage and Connie will have permanent families of their own in the country of their birth.  These children were lucky to have had many people sponsor and support their care during their time with us, and their sponsors played a huge role in giving them the opportunity to be considered for adoption!
