Leaving the Landfill to Learn

Since COVID began, the landfill where some of our older students live has seen an influx of new families with nowhere else to go. Desperate parents with no other source of income bring their families to the dumpsite to search for recyclables to sell. LWB is now working with over 60 children living at the dumpsite, and we’re committed to giving these wonderful kids the chance to learn and better their futures.

Four Heart Patients, Far From Home

For the past few weeks, our LWB India team has been busy welcoming and caring for four little heart patients who traveled from Africa to Amrita Hospital for surgery unavailable to them in their home countries. While the children prepare for surgery and recover, their parents stay together in the regular ward of the hospital and provide each other with moral support as they wait for their children to get their essential cardiac repairs.

Both Gage and Connie have been part of LWB programs since they were just tiny babies, and now both have left our care to meet their permanent families.

Nine Down-right Remarkable Boys

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month — a time to bring attention to the abilities of people with Down syndrome and advocate for their acceptance and inclusion. Although Down syndrome occurs regularly in both girls and boys, in 2021 we happen to have nine little boys with Down syndrome currently living at our China Healing Home. They bring us so much joy that we wanted to highlight how truly remarkable they are — — from oldest to youngest.

A Trio of Travelers Prepare for Heart Surgery in India

Over the past year, Love Without Boundaries has helped 18 Ugandan children with heart defects travel to India for cardiac repair surgery. There are very few pediatric heart surgeons in Uganda, and many parents are desperate to find help for their children. Now, three more children are preparing to travel to Amrita Hospital in India, and we can’t wait for you to get to know them!

Delivering Hope to Hungry Villages

At the start of this week’s Emergency Food Relief campaign, and over the last 18 months of the pandemic, we have shared stories of the many children and families in our country program locations who are desperate for food. The heartwrenching circumstances have been our motivation to continue doing all that we possibly can to help, and it is the reason we set our most recent and ambitious goal of raising $75,000 to help those in urgent need of nutrition.
