Physical Therapy (PT)
Physical Therapy (PT) Projects are currently in place in several orphanages. We attempt to identify children as early as possible who can benefit from PT services. Physical therapy helps many children to meet developmental milestones and hopefully be placed on waiting children adoption lists in order to receive families of their own.
PT Camps allow children in orphanages to be evaluated by professionals. Volunteer physical therapists and occupational therapists travel along with LWB staff to China to make evaluations and suggest treatment plans for the identified children. The therapists are also able to offer suggestions to the orphanage staff to supplement their current efforts to encourage large and small motor development in all of their children.
PT projects are a wonderful way to meet the physical needs of many children, helping them to achieve their full potential. For more information please click here or to donate to this program please click here.
