I'm excited to return to Washington DC this fall to run my sixth Marine Corps Marathon. I began running in High School when I joined the cross-country team, and I've continued running throughout college, graduate school, and now "real life". I love how running helps me to stay physically. mentally, and spiritually healthy, and I'm grateful for this opportunity to bless and serve others by sharing my love for the sport.

My motivation

I'm running to Team LWB to raise money for life-saving and life-enriching care for orphaned children living with special needs in China. My family has been blessed to welcome four children from China into our home and lives, and I've seen first hand the difference loving, compassionate, specialized care can make in the holistic development of these children. In addition to having four siblings adopted from China, I had the opportunity to travel to China with LWB to help open a cleft Healing Home, and my life was forever changed.  THANK YOU for partnering with me to provide HOPE, HEALING, and HEALTH to these precious children of God.

Goal: $1,500.00
To date: $1,757.00

Santiago has a bilateral cleft lip and cleft palate and arrived at Starbridge Healing Home in June 2013.  At 3 months old he weighed just over 5 lbs and had a difficult time eating.  With the specialized feeding he is receiving from the SBHH nannies he gained over 2.5 lbs in just a few weeks.  He was very quiet when he first arrived at the home but has already started to show his happy personality.  In a few more months he will be able to have his lip repaired and then will recover at SBHH afterward.
