Tamara Schlachter

I am a wife to a wonderful husband of almost 18 years and a mom to three healthy, beautiful children ages 11, 8, and 6. They are my inspiration to be a better wife, mom, and person. I started running a few years ago and met up with a wonderful group of women who have a huge heart for the children less fortunate. I didn't realize the incredible need for orphan care in China, especially with their medical care. I have watched these women not only love on the children, pray and advocate for them, but open their homes and invite them into their lives as one of their own. They have inspired me more than I can explain, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to run along side of them at the marathon. We are running as a united team. To be honest, we aren't trained well enough to run the whole thing....but our hearts are big and we are going to skip, dance, sing, crawl, cry, laugh, take tons of pictures, and cross the finish line for the sweet babes in China.
