New Orleans Rock 'n' Roll Marathon
This is the fourth year the Rock ’n’ Roll Marathon Series has been held in New Orleans. Last year more than 3,600 runners completed the full marathon route that starts and finishes outside the Louisiana Superdome downtown and then winds its way through the French Quarter, along scenic St. Charles Avenue, and eventually through both Audubon Park and City Park at opposite ends of the city. More than 13,000 finished the half-marathon portion of the route.

collected for Love Without Boundaries from this event will benefit LWB’s
Special Medical Projects Program at the Pingliang Children’s Welfare Institute
in northwest China’s Gansu Province. The Pingliang CWI is a large
orphanage serving five rural counties plus the city of Pingliang. Almost
all of the 145 children there have special needs. LWB’s Special Medical
Projects Program in Pingliang supports projects like child surgeries, staff
medical or therapeutic training, and equipment or travel associated with
priority medical needs. Many of the children have serious issues associated
with cerebral palsy, acute visual and hearing impairments, or any of a range of
developmental disorders. Others have cleft issues or other birth
anomalies.
