LWB provides life-changing medical care, runs well monitored foster homes, operates schools, and supplies quality nutrition and other essential items to orphaned and impoverished children. Our programs work together to meet the whole needs of the children we help. Read more below.

Education
LWB’s Education Program provides access to education to orphaned and impoverished children who otherwise would have little hope of a brighter future. We’re committed to helping as many children as possible achieve their dreams of learning. Our efforts include:
- Believe in Me schools run by LWB
- Early childhood development
- Secondary and higher education
- Orphaned and vulnerable children support
Foster Care
Based on the belief that every child deserves a family of his or her own, LWB’s Foster Care Program is changing children’s lives in Cambodia, China, India, and Uganda.
We have dedicated staff who work directly with foster families and visit each child monthly to assess overall health and development. These monthly visits allow us to quickly identify when a child has additional needs, such as supplemental nutrition or medical issues.
Medical Care
LWB’s Medical Care Program has provided surgeries and medical care for thousands of orphaned and impoverished children. Our medical program’s goal is to provide the highest quality care for the children who come into our hands.
We have a strong focus on heart surgeries and cleft repairs. We also provide hernia and other general surgeries. Our Unity Initiative provides surgeries for children from impoverished families. We hold medical exchanges between doctors from the United States and those in the countries where we work.
Nutrition
LWB’s Nutrition Program is committed to helping children in our programs have the healthiest lives possible. We provide:
- Infant and specialty formula for babies in our healing homes
- Food for children living in hard places, such as slums or landfills
- Nutrition support for children in our foster care program
- A daily meal program for children at our Believe in Me schools, many of whom are chronically malnourished
Child Trafficking Aid
LWB has created a special foster care program, Safe Haven Foster Care, for children who have been trafficked or abused to ensure they have a secure and nurturing place to work toward healing. Children receive the medical and nutrition support needed, as well as specialized educational help so they can attend school, often for the first time in their lives. They are able to know the love of a family while reunification efforts are investigated.
Special Projects
Wherever we see children with true needs, we do our best to help. Sometimes these special projects don’t fall under our main program areas, but they make a big impact in so many different ways. From providing shoes to wheelchairs, cleft bottles to solar lights, and more, we are able to step up to make children’s lives better.
Family Preservation
Investing in family preservation is an essential step in preventing children from becoming orphaned. To that end, we work with local communities to identify vulnerable children at risk of abandonment or neglect and provide critical support, such as food relief, home builds, or medical care. Our extensive kinship search efforts also help many children in orphanages or foster care be reunified with their birth families.
