Home > Medical > Special Projects > Medical Trips & Exchanges One of LWB's key programs is to provide medical care to children. Over the past six years, our medical program has touched the lives of over 1200 children, brought seven medical teams into China to heal children and teach Chinese doctors, sent doctors from China to the US for training, and arranged to bring children from China to the US for needed medical care. Our goal is always to get the very best medical care for the children we help and advocate for the adoption of every child possible. Medical Trips and Exchanges Many of the hospitals in China that we use have asked us for specialized medical training in specific areas. If you are a doctor who would be willing to travel to China to offer such training or a hospital willing to host Chinese surgeons for training, we would love to talk with you! Over the last six years, we have set up eight exchanges between Chinese doctors and doctors outside of China that have been so successful. So much more than medical knowledge is exchanged and the benefit is always how many orphaned and impoverished children are helped. In addition to needing doctors and hospitals who would love to be a part of this wonderful program, we need funding to help make these happen. Medical Case Review and Treatment Outside of China We often get children who have complicated medical conditions. To make sure we understand the necessary medical treatment required, we often need the support of specialized pediatric doctors. Doctors are needed to review information and testing results in order to consult on treatment options. In addition, there are some cases that require specialized medical centers outside of China, and we need help from outside hospitals and foundations to help these children with more complex needs. We have been building a hospital network throughout the world to help us with these children. If you are a physician who would be willing to help us review cases, or a hospital or foundation which would consider providing medial care to orphan children, please email us below to join our network and to improve the lives of these precious children.
