Through our Medical Program, we provide funding for many types of surgeries and medical care. To date we have treated over 1700 children in 23 provinces. We fund many types of surgeries, including heart surgeries, cleft lip and palate repair, and colorectal repairs. We also fund preemie care and club foot casting treatment. We continue to follow-up on children for at least one full year after treatment. Our costs include providing a caregiver to accompany the child to and from the hospital and to stay with them until they are discharged, so that the child has a familiar caregiver with them at all times. Love Without Boundaries staff visit every child while they are in the hospital, often bringing toys or small gifts. The child’s comfort and care are always our first priority. Medical Philosophy Love Without Boundaries believes in focusing on the whole child. After their surgeries, many children enter our Foster Care Program. Children needing extra TLC reside at our Heartbridge Pediatric Healing Unit or Cleft Healing Homes before and after surgery. We monitor the health of every child in our Foster Care and Education Programs and make sure their medical needs are met. Our ultimate goal is to have adoption paperwork submitted for every child we treat. By helping a child with a surgery, you not only give them a second chance at a healthy life – you also give them a better chance of being adopted.
