Home > Foster Care > Fundraiser 2010 Foster Care Fundraising Challenge Our Foster Care Programs in China allow approximately 300 children in 7 provinces to share in the love of a family of their own. Each child has 2 sponsors who pay for the foster parent salaries through their monthly subscriptions. However, those subscriptions only just cover the foster care fee, leaving us little money for anything extra. Love Without Boundaries believes in caring for the ‘whole’ child and providing the help a child requires to achieve his or her highest potential. It is with great pleasure that we announce that one of our wonderful donors, who understands the importance of foster care so well, has come forward and offered to match any donation given to LWB Foster Care, for the period of February 15 – March 15 2010, up to $36,000 total!!! Please consider making a donation, no matter how small, to our Foster Care General Fund between February 15 – March 15, 2010 . Every dollar will be matched! Together we can! Learn more about what this fundraiser can achieve. Every time a child enters one of our foster care programs there are charges. We have to pay for the child and the foster family to undergo health checks; we provide a safe crib, and we provide initial clothes and toys. These start-up fees are around $250 per child. Also, as with all children, our foster children sometimes become sick and need to see a doctor. LWB covers these minor medical bills. Many of the children in our foster care programs also have medical special needs. While our medical program and donors pay for any surgeries required, these children often need ongoing physical therapy or pediatric walkers, etc. In addition, our foster parents and local China managers need ongoing training to best care for their children. All of the above of course requires funding, and our volunteer coordinators have an ongoing burden on them to find funds to help the children in their programs. LWB also wishes to open additional foster care programs as we have seen the life changing results when an orphaned child is placed into a loving home. But of course before we can even consider starting new programs we have to have those initial start up fees.
